The Ramblers Association is the largest body representing walkers in Great Britain with 140,000 members and nearly 70 years experience of promoting the interests of walkers. Promoting Walking: We provide an information service for walkers and work with central and local government to promote the health, recreation and environmental benefits of walking. Access to the countryside: We work to establish statutory rights of access to the countryside and inform the public about their right and responsibilities when out walking. Footpaths: All too often footpaths are illegally blocked, obstructed or overgrown. We protect Britains unique network of paths. Protecting the countryside: We strive to safeguard the countryside from unsightly and polluting developments so that walkers can enjoy its tranquility and beauty.
